BeefJack and Apps World 2012

Welcome back to the BeefJack Blog, BeefJackers!

BeefJack’s team has gone for a trip to Apps World 2012 to get a feel of what’s going on in… well, the worlds of apps! This year, there were plenty of speakers, from various different industries such as Samsung, Blackberry, Virgin Media and more to give a run-down of what’s going on in the industry.

The hole point of attending the event is to gain more knowledge about the industry, to get idea about how to promote mobile products more efficiently and to monetise them better as well.

There were many people attending the event, and most of which were delighted to see the new things that the 2012 edition of Apps World had to offer. First of all, there were themed sections, each of which catered to their own particular niche. There were also plenty of opportunities for networking; getting to know some of the titans in the business is always a pleasure. There was also a lot of focus on the Android platform since there were speakers giving plenty of advice about how to make games and apps on it, which was definitely interesting.

There was also a competition called The Appsters Awards in which a panel of judges decided which was the best app in Apps World 2012 according to each of the niches as mentioned before.

The Beef Team went to Richard Branson’s property (The Roof Gardens) which had Flamingos walking around minding their own business. This was quite a lot of fun, as we had the chance to meet some of the leaders of great business in the UK.

We also met with Jon Howard (Head of Games for the BBC) who was truly inspiring. We talked about today’s gaming trends and what types of games we love, which was definitely something interesting to do.

Until next time!

The buzz...

Hot Tub Heist is fun game with a simple mechanic - just go down. The characters and themes make it stand out, with a nice mix of humor and fun gameplay. Congratulations BeefJack Studios! Colin Cupp - MochiMedia

Very pleased with the work produced, would be very happy to go back to them. All around extremely pleased - would rate very highly! Max Viale-Sole
All in all I really like this game because it’s refreshing and different from most of the puzzles games out there. Additionally it feels like a platformer game in disguise so there is definitely a lot to enjoy and a bit more depth than your typical physics puzzle. Did I mention you can Rewind time? Give Nimball:Rewind a try [...] I fully recommend this game. Ushin - Bored.Com
...action fans will find Hot Tub Heist soaks up a coffee break quite nicely. Tricky - JayIsGames.Com
